2023 Spring & Summer Brochure *Programs are Subject to Change at Any Time* 2023 Greenbelt Relay Registration Form Youth Spring and Summer Activities Little Goal Kickers This is an instructional soccer program for boys and girls in Kindergarten and 1st grade. This program is an introduction to soccer. The program will meet on Fridays beginning in April for 4 weeks. Site will be Pineview North Playground. Youth Soccer Boys and girls in grades 2-3-4-5 are eligible to participate. This program meets on Tuesday and Thursday for 4 weeks. Location is at Rock Run Elementary. Youth Tennis and Golf Lessons Beginner and intermediate level lessons will be offered. The program will meet for two weeks, Monday - Thursday for one hour. This program is offered for Grades 4 - 8. There are two, two-week sessions, one in June and one in July. Youth Golf and Tennis Camps This is a five day camp introducing 3rd graders to golf and tennis. The tennis camp is from 9 - 10 a.m. and the golf camp is from 1 - 2 p.m. These camps are held in June. Foster Park Fun Boys and Girls in K - 2nd grade participate in arts and crafts, outdoor games, sports and more! There are two, two-week sessions, one in June and one in July. Sport Tots This is a fun and active introductory sports program for 4 and 5 year old boys and girls. The basic concepts of a few team sports like t-ball and soccer will be introduced. There are two, two week sessions, one in June and one in July. SUMMER BASEBALL & SOFTBALL PROGRAMS Registration forms are due in March Blast Ball 3 and 4 year old boys and girls participate in an introductory game for t-ball. The game is safe and uses a foam bat and ball with no gloves required. The program begins in early June. T-Ball Kindergarten and 5 years olds in Pre-K. Boys and girls participate in a fun structured program with practices beginning in late May and the season concluding in early July. Baseball/Softball 1st and 2nd grade boys and girls. Practices begin in May and the season concludes in early July. 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th Grade Boys Baseball. The program will be conducted by the Iowa Falls/Alden Little League Association. Youth/Adult Activities
Punt, Pass and Kick The competition is open to all boys and girls ages 8-15. Date: TBA Fee: Free Flag Football Tournament TBA Turkey Shoot Held on a Sunday in November the Iowa Falls Parks and Recreation Department will hosts their Annual Holiday Family Turkey Shoot (shooting free throws for turkeys). A team will consist of a parent and child from the same family. Winning teams will receive a free 10-pound turkey. Location: Riverbend Middle School Fee: $1 per person Holiday Open Gym The Rock Run Gym is open for supervised play on in December during the holiday break 1:00-3:00 p.m. This program is for children in eighth grade and below. Any child under seven years of age must be accompanied by an adult Youth Softball Pitching Youth softball winter (indoors) pitching practices. Girls in third through eighth grade who are interested may contact High School Coach Steve Bahr for more information on dates and times at [email protected] Winterfest The Parks and Recreation Department is teaming up with Chamber/Main Street, the Boat Club and Hardin County Conservation for this event. There will be family-oriented activities and fireworks. This event take place in January. Adult Activities
Women's Volleyball League play will begin in September. Games will be played at Riverbend Middle School. Co-Rec Volleyball The Co-Rec Volleyball League will be held evenings in January, February, and March. League divisions will be made according to teams' competitive levels. The season will be nine to ten weeks, with games played at Rock Run and Riverbend Middle Schools. 5 on 5 Basketball The 5 on 5 League will be held on Wednesday evenings. League divisions will be made according to the teams' competitive levels. Games will be played at the Riverbend Middle School Gym. League play will last nine to ten weeks. Disc Golf Tournament There is a disc golf tournament held during the 4th of July activities. DATES, TIMES AND FEES ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE Youth Fall and Winter Programs Little Dunkers Basketball Dribble, shoot, score! Boys and girls in first and second grades are eligible to participate. This program will consist of six Saturday mornings. The program will focus on fundamentals and skill development. Volunteers are needed! The program begins January. This program is held at the Rock Run Gym. Flag Football Third, fourth and fifth grade boys and girls are eligible to participate. Games will be held on Saturday mornings in September and October. Rules Flag Football Instructional Second grade boys and girls are eligible to participate. The program will focus on basic fundamentals of flag football. This program will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning in September and lasting for three weeks. Youth Volleyball Third and fourth grade boys and girls are eligible to participate. The program will focus on individual skills and team strategies. Beginning in September on Saturdays from 9:00-9:50 a.m. at Riverbend Middle School. |
